you shall not pass.

I think I can finally be welcomed into Society. I used to be a shunned individual because I had never seen "the Lord of the Rings." It's a piece of information I tried desperately to hide from others, because when they would discover this they would look at me sadly and say, "oh, you're one of those people." Well, I am no longer one of those people, I finally watched [most of] the first one over the break and the almost all of the second. I didn't hate it. In fact, I mostly enjoyed it, I can see why people go crazy over it. And when I say 'crazy' I mean it. There are few things more geeky than the Lord of the Rings, though I can't think of anything at the moment.

Truth be told, it makes me want to geek out too. I want to own posters and action figures and maybe a t-shirt, that's how converted I am to this. Okay, not really, I only want to own a poster if it's of Orlando Bloom as an elf. He makes a nice elf. He's a beautiful person, I especially like his long hair.

Okay, so maybe I'm not fully equipped to handle a conversation about Shire-people or an eternal love for the ring, but I do enjoy these movies and would not protest to watch one if you offered. But please, someone, spoil the end of the trilogy for me: does Orlando Bloom live to the end? I certainly hope so.

  1. Oh my goodness! I watched the movies for the first time as well, over Christmas break! All 3 extended versions in 3 days (and bonus features...shh) And I have most the same feelings. And Legolas is my favorite person; I could literally marry him. If he existed. You know. And I tweeted the twittersphere the same question you asked. *spoiler alert* He does! Kay well. This made no sense. Just rest assured that we are twinners. ps this is the longest comment I've probably ever written.
